   Too subdued for its own good--and this coming from a film goer who prefers subtle, natural, contemplative dramas.
   
   Also, the filmmaker did not make it possible for the audience to form enough of an emotional connection to Geena Davis' character for us to feel even remotely happy for her/him in the end. 12 years ago
