Insanity. What a fantastic documentary. It's quite disturbing, but weirdly funny as well. One thing that struck me is that, although the danger of nuclear warfare has not exactly disappeared, we seem to have become much more comfortable with ignoring the possibility. Obviously atomic terror was much more ubiquitous in the past.
I wouldn't mind tracking down the soundtrack to this if there is one; I imagine there are some very interesting cultural documents of the atomic age that extend well beyond the material used here, and might give a clearer idea of the psychological character of the period.

Kinda surprised this isn't on at least one list as of yet. Not the most unknown of subject matters, but the documentary does a great job at painting the Atomic Age in all its hysteria and irrationality. I love how it gets its point across solely through the use of contemporary PSAs, archival footage, and topic specific music. History itself tells the story.
