And if you get bored in Oklahoma City, you can always go over to Tulsa for the weekend!Siskoid
There are a lot of fun bits in The Awful Truth, a screwball comedy in which Cary Grant and Irene Dunne get divorced for no good reason - well, mistrust and jealousy - and immediately regret it, though they can't really admit to that. This is apparently where a reluctant Grant created his well-known onscreen persona and you really can't tell it's his first attempt at the comic suave jerk. His performance seems effortless. Dunne is more than his equal, really in her element with improvised shtick and slightly mad reactions. Stealing every scene however is Mr. Smith, a very cute and highly trained canine actor (the cat's not bad either, but has a much smaller role). Now, I wouldn't call Irene Dunne sexy on any given day of the week, but that last scene between them manages to be pretty steamy. And romantic. And funny. And clever. Ends on a great note, no dog required.BillieDove
I haven't laughed so hard in a while.Jumping Elephant
I agree about Irene Dunn. I also caught more than one "literal tip of the hat to Buster Keaton". Also also, the scene where Joyce Compton (Dixie Bell) is singing her song, that part seemed awfully similar to Marilyn Monroe's later famous subway scene in The Seven Year Itch.Prof. Lumpcicle

A bit mundane at the beginning, but once humour rolled in, I couldn't stop myself from laughing. Just perfect.CrazieCabbie
Anyone else catch the literal tip of the hat to Buster Keaton during the motorcycle ride?TalkingElvish
Fantastic dialogue but strayed too far into incredulity at timesRohit
