I can't believe this film is on a whoppin' 26 official lists. Not a bad movie, but way overhyped and overrated. Steve Buscemi in his most pointless role I've seen, the part could had been played by just about anyone, and every time John Goodman's character opened his mouth I just felt like punching him in the face. What a waste of so much talent here. Jeff Bridges was pretty great, though.

The jokes must've been funny in 1998, but they did absolutely nothing for me watching this now. The plot was predictable, and the musical bits just made me cringe, glad I was at least able to fast forward through those parts.

The Cohen Bros. do it again! A Chandleresque runaround starring a total hippie slacker that's just full of quirkiness and humor.

Can't believe that almost all of these comments are negative. That's just, like, your opinion, man.

I dont know what to think about it. just memoral surreal scenes that i liked and few funny moments. its like power of the film is in the end in somere reflextions of ourselfs. the political side of the film i didnt get it at all but i think is kind of analogy

In my opinion, the better achieved part of this movie is beyond the movie itself. It is easier in this film to recognize the format for all those tasteless 2000's dudebro flicks than in other movies Murikans have previously made.

The macho humour in this one is getting, thank God, more and more outdated as time passes by, but I have to admit I laughed at all German guys' related, maybe because of the readiness itself the German spirit has to make other peoples laugh. I still don't know, though, what could have been so funny when this was on the cinemas. Maybe I'm missing not being white. No idea.

If more people said "fuck it, let's go bowling," there would be less conflict in this world.

good start, some good moments... but over all just boring and a pain in the ass to sit out.

In general, a dismal movie. But I have to admit I laughed out loud at some antics ("Did that Dude really just do that stupid thing? ") The best parts were the dream sequences...the homage to Busby Berkley (done well but not to Busby standards) and the homage to "The Crowd".

I wanted to like this, but i have too agree that is overrated. Now if you were stoned while watching it, than it's a completely different story.
