An interesting and solid performance by Sir Anthony Hopkins, and he is far better than Mel Gibson. The rest of the cast are also good, but I think some characters, which I would have liked to see more of, doesn't quite get enough room, like the Daniel Day-Lewis character, for instance.
There is also a less melodramatic ending than in the version with Brando, which I think is for the best. 13 years 3 months ago -

The third telling of the Bounty story is a good one and puts a new spin on some characters and adds fresh ideas to the mix. The mystique Vangelis score, the native nudity and subtle performances from a young Mel Gibson and an especially good Anthony Hopkins makes this a lot of fun to watch. 11 years 6 months ago -
