The Chipmunks: a novelty act that stuck around much much longer than it's creators dreamed. Way after their first cartoon TV series, but before the CGI movie trilogy, the singing rodent trio were featured in several movies. This one is about a pair of Euro creepy siblings tricking the Chipmunks and Chippettes into smuggling jewels around the world under the guise of a race.
It has a ridiculous improbable plot, silly musical numbers, clichéd everything, etc. But you know what? I liked it. I guess, being a self-proclaimed toon geek I shouldn't, but I think it's fun. The character designs, bounce and squash movement, and most of the musical numbers appealed to me.
No, it's not because I have an unhealthy attraction to the Chippettes. I mean if I did -which i don't- it'd be Jeanette. Now you'd think Eleanor would be more my taste, chubby charmer she is, but I prefer Jeanette. I think it's her tousled appearance and glasses. Am I still typing? Uh... 11 years 3 months ago -

This was and still is one of my favorite childhood movies and when recently when I saw someone selling a brand new copy for a few dollars I couldn't resist. Still love the musical numbers and the plot after all this time. This movie probably jump-started my love of traveling as a kid. 8 years ago -
