Of the best films in the category of superheroes, at least not at the level of shit like Spiderman, Hulk, X-Men, the Fantastic Four and coming ........... To me it makes me excelnte achievement, really attached to the essence and history of the comic, if overrated but still an excellent film.

I loved the despairing tone of this.....how the villain makes incredibly violent and sad things happen, then does other things to inconvenience and damage society. I see it as operatic in that regard. The ending lets us down - I almost expected it to end with another death.

Without a doubt one of the best films of all time, obviously it's the greatest comic book film so far but I think it has the right element of suspense, drama, action and a little bit of horror to balance itself out as a great film overall. People who consider it overrated probably went into the film with a grudge already wanting to hate it cause of all the press it got with Ledger's death or all the Batman fanboys. Those on the other end of the spectrum who come up with reasons to dislike it are beyond me, it's plot is fantastic and the acting is great. Sure, the source material was there..but Nolan does leaps and bounds with it. It's probably my favorite film and will always stay that way.
