The problem with The Dark Knight is that the main demographics decided that it was going to be one of the greatest films of all time...well before it was even released. It was a self-fulfilling prophecy based off of a number of factors.The truth is though that this doesn't belong on any list, except for worldwide box office. Christopher Nolan screened Heat for the entire cast and crew before production. He wanted TDK to be one of the greatest crime dramas of all time, that just happened to be about Batman. Very few people are able to objectively judge this movie for what it really is though. It's a glossy, over-hyped superhero film. It doesn't even touch Heat.
