It has some great moment during the battle scenes. The great glimpses of the bloody dead in just the corner of the screen while another soldier climbs over them is riveting and appreciated. Lots of killing but no great bloody or gory scenes. I appreciate the subtlety. 10 years 11 months ago -

very 60's movie. possibly you can see some parts of europe shot to pieces in the period right after the war. looks like an italian village with severe wartime damage. acting is good enough for the period the movie was taken.
