This was a letdown. No explanation is ever given for what happened, which you can just write off as nuclear war, that's fine, but what about ?? What seemed like a sci-fi plot just got completely abandoned for a Lord of the Flies type drama that sadly didn't reach that level. 3 weeks 5 days ago -

This was painful. There wasn't a single intelligent or likeable character apart from Michael Biehn. Everyone is at each others throats literally less than 10 minutes into this almost 2 hour long slog, we're never given a chance to get to know anyone before they're trying to rape and kill each other. At one point I literally shouted at the screen in frustration, I don't think I've ever been that annoyed by a character in a movie. There is a brief sequence which seems to establish a somewhat intriguing sci-fi plot which is then completely abandoned and forgotten about by any of the characters which only annoyed me further. Also I don't know if it was just a problem with the version I was watching (UK Netflix) but this film looked horrible, I'd estimate almost 2/3 of the movie was plagued by awful visual noise which at times made it almost unwatchable. 8 years 9 months ago -

The only good thing about this movie was the ending. Terrible acting, characters stupid as hell, even the "logical" decisions were illogical. What could've been a psychological masterpiece, turned out to be a complete opposite. It was intended to be, as roxannepena says, "a good eye-opener for us people in case of an apocalypse. It showed the struggle for survival and its horrifying effects to people's mental, emotional, spiritual and social being." But it failed. Hard. I guess it's because the makers of the film showed us what they expected to happen, not what would actually happen. Everything leading up to the craziness in the end was blank and boring, without the gradual mind-losing what would've made this movie what they wanted it to be.
It always makes me sad to see such fantastic ideas made into awful movies. 10 years ago
