Charming love story with all the angst and heartache of the efforts to quench the deep-abiding loneliness that accompanies the lack of companionship. Beautifully acted by Jameson Thomas as the widower. His sense of despair could be seen all over his face. There were humorous parts which kept it light and moving along. Not your typical Hitchcock movie but very enjoyable nonetheless. 10 years 7 months ago -

This movie is quite nice: it portrays love as something slightly pathetic. Against all the odds, it is a Hitchcock with a pinch of Jane Austen.
