The ambiguity about Damien is what made The Omen great. The less ambiguous his character is, the worse the movie. Amazing score though. 2 years ago

Oh dear, such a disappointment .
A good idea, and magnificent portrayal by Sam Neil .. but such a poor story line full of plot holes and stupid behaviour (by both sides) spoil it...

Initially, it all looks so promising: The Anti-Christ is all grown up and played by the great Sam Neill in a role he was born to play. BUT - it all goes horribly wrong: The plot is driven more by talk than visuals, Damien is not given enough nasty things to do and his power is vague and consists for the most part of magically getting people or animals to obey his command. If he is a manipulator operating in the background - don't show him - but if you put him in the centre of the movie: at least let his eyes glow red in the dark or something. He looks more like your average politician in this movie than the devil's offspring. Finally: The good guys are pathetic and clumsy, there is lots of stupidity towards the end and the whole thing ends on an embarrassingly anti-climactic note. 9 years 3 months ago
