it's basically mad max:fury road taking place during the civil war. after having seen a bunch of other silent movies and seeing "the general" the second time now i still like it for its entertainment value but calling it the best silent movie ever made (as voted on silentera.com and others) is a stretch and has imho more to do with popular consent and availability than actual quality. in the end it's just an action movie with some comedic elements, which sounds strangely familiar to the formular on how they make blockbusters nowadays
Lovely music indeed! I feared that this would be a series of sketches forced together with clown acting like the few Chaplin films I have seen, but this was nothing like that. Excellent!
