Yes, the movie is long, but I don't think there is any moment that comes off as boring.Overall great movie with lot of fun moments.
Walton, JJL and Samuel are the picks of the movie.

It's like Reservoir Dogs set in the wild west. A far cry from the insane explosive spaghetti western love letter that was Django Unchained. The tension is constantly building and building which makes the inevitable violent outbursts that much more satisfying.weirdboy
In Reservoir Dogs, QT does a great job of giving you some development of the relationship between Tim Roth's and Harvey Keitel's characters as the film progresses, so that by the time you get to the end you really are emotionally invested in them and you understand their points of view better in the climax.Similarly with Pulp Fiction, which is all about redemption, you get a peek into Butch's and Jules' thoughts and feelings, and develop a personal investment in their decisions in their respective climaxes.
By the end of Hateful Eight, I didn't really feel closer to any of the characters than I did in the first 15 minutes. I suppose the idea is that we are supposed to be seeing something along those lines between Mannix and Marquis, but I didn't personally get any insight into why they acted as they did, or what acted upon Mannix's decisions leading up to the end of the film. Maybe that part was left on the cutting room floor, or maybe it was never in the script to begin with, but I walked out of the theater feeling like I had missed some essential connection that would make me care more about it.

70 MM roadshow is the way to go!Consigliere
It's a spaghetti western people. You are not supposed to like the characters, or feel any sympathy towards any of them at all. Not that I thought any thing special of this, or any other of Tarantino's films for that matter, but I actually feel this might be his most genuine film genre-wise.Groovy09
It may not be one of Tarantino's absolute best, but it's still one hell of a fun ride filled with brilliant dialog, great characters and excellent performances from the entire cast. Not to mention Ennio Morricone's music which is absolutly fantastic and sets the mood of the film perfectly. Before you go see it, you just have to know that it's very violent. It may be his most violent film to date next to Kill Bill, but if you don't mind that I highly recommend it!
Tarantino once again proofs that he is still of the best filmmakers working today.

There was no reason at all to film this in 70mm aside from the fact that it seemed to be on QT's wish list.starnamedstork
Tarantino does Tarantino in Reservoir Dogs meets Django Unchained. I had a blast!Yeah, long. Yeah, dialogue. Yeah, blood. It's Tarantino, what do you expect?

Overlong but goooooooood. Never found it boring due to the great cast and cinematography. Stage play western upped with a lot of Tarantino juice :-)si_reid
I read Leonard Maltin call this boring in parts, each to their own I guess, I loved it, Walton Goggins, SLJ, Kurt Russell & JJL are the standoutsaniforprez
Entertaining but the plot falters in a few places and sometimes the pacing seems off. Still VERY enjoyable. QT is still the master of character building and tension.9/10
