Although somewhat fictionalized, this bio of the wildly popular singer from the 1920-1930's, Helen Morgan, is entertaining and easy to watch. The music (actually sung by Gogi Grant) is wonderful even though it really is not representative of the sound of the real Helen Morgan's voice which was more soprano. Paul Newman plays a despicable slime, taking advantage of every thing and every one he can. If you don't take the plot as fact, this is a moving movie about a women who fought with her internal and external demons. 10 years 7 months ago
