The camera is all over the place in this movie, and by that, I mean the camera is literally all over the place: circling around prisoners in claustrophobic jail cells, craning up and over the titular Hill as well as the buildings and fences of the prison. At one point it's mounted to a jeep as it circles the grounds. Very Lumet, and very good. This film's got a lot to say about issues of war, racism, empire-building and authority, and it tells it well, with no clear answers. 9 years 4 months ago -
