It is indeed a very good movie, but the antisemitism ingredient of the case wasn't there. Without it, the story is incomplete.

Interestingly, despite the film winning an Oscar for Best Picture, it wasn't properly released in France until 1952.

Former commenter Alfredo Garcia has a point, apparently the producer tried even to refrain from the usage of the word "jew" at all. Think of the year it was made ..

I downloaded this movie about two years ago and i didn't want to watch it cos i thought it would be unbearable.it would bore me. And last i watched it today and favorited it. Flawless movie with good actings.
