This movie is a wonderful mess. It can't decide whether it's a goofy kids movie, or a dark teen romance full of thrill rides, sex, and murder. And by the end, it's The Griswalds meet Dracula. A profoundly stupid story, but endlessly entertaining and actually quite atmospheric.
Also, how was Jason Patric not cast in The Doors, four years after everyone saw him in this?
I also fail to understand what makes this film so special. I just didn't get what it was trying to be... didn't really feel like a horror movie, that's for sure. I guess you could call it The Goonies with vampires and an awesome soundtrack. Also - I'm not gay (...I think), but Jason Patric is damn hot in it!

This is actually pretty great. Awesome gothic-horror feel throughout and a real almost Spielbergian magic about it.mook
Cheesy and dated but good fun. It wasnt expecting it to be so lighthearted. Sort of like 'The Goonies' - with vampires.benjiman

I have to say, I don't really get why this has a cult following. Quite fun but didn't really stand out.cathedra
a masterpiece that fuck in the ass to the shitty twilight saga.Dawizz
Dated beyond words, and one of those movies that makes you ask. Why is this movie in the Empire 500 list?
