A good comedy should still be a good movie if the jokes are stripped away. This movie had a surprisingly insightful and original core. Not every joke worked, but enough did. And I was invested in the characters and their relationship with each other. It was better than I was expecting

This was quite honestly one of the funniest movies I have seen in my life. The trailer and the social media marketing were genius and I knew I had to see this. 23 years after helping the Russian mafia with a train robbery, Bert Kreischer and his father, played by Mark Hamill, are kidnapped and forced to return a family heirloom. Hilarity ensues. If you are a fan of black comedy, this is about as dark as it gets. Kreischer has an everyman quality to him that I think has been absent from films for a lot of years and Hamill proves himself to be a versatile actor, someone who can play the comedic role. Mind you, there is an actual plot here to keep you wanting to see how it ends, and there are some genuinely great family moments. Not to mention some over-the-top action scenes that make you forget you're watching a comedy. This was a roller coaster ride from start to finish and multiple people applauded when it was over.
