    So part of the film is lost, and the preservation looks like trash, insofar as I can't really tell that all these Native American characters are played by white actors by the movie itself. But its history aside, it is no wonder this film hasn't been well preserved, The Mended Lute is pretty incomprehensible. I know Griffith as making early silents way more consumable, understandable, entertaining despite many shortcomings. Those skills are not present in this early work, it really only has shortcomings. Besides a canoe chase. Is there even a lute? 1 year 3 months ago
