Although I think it falls short of being among the best Hollywood musicals (mainly because it didn’t need to be that long), it’s still very good. Robert Preston’s performance is magnetic. He should’ve gotten a Best Actor nomination.
Shirley Jones is also very good... and beautiful.
Great sets, great cinematography (the first non-Hitchcock movie shot by Robert Burkes that I’ve seen) and great songs. Ya Got Trouble is amazing. 2 years 2 months ago -

I'm not usually a musical lover but this one had me riveted to the screen. I loved Robert Preston's performance much better than anyone else's. Although Shirley Jones was luscious to look at, I really don't care for her singing. 12 years 6 months ago
