Bare and grim, like most of the movies that come out of this region, though thanks to certain imagery and plot elements could almost be viewed as a realistic fable. Makes my top 20 for 2013, resting at #13 for the moment.

Saw this film at the Cornwall Film Festival this weekend. One of the most moving and powerful films I have seen a while. The main actors should be commended for their portrayal of anger and their ability to carry emphatic performances throughout the film. The newest Brit film to add to the uniqueness of cinema and the ability to evoke emotions in not just me, but the audience I sat with.

When they hold each others' hand is one of the most powerful moments in the film. Well done.
