Asides from Anthony Hopkins' searing performance, and a few well done scenes (his escape)...this feels very pedestrian to me.

This movie wasn't bad, but it was a little disappointment after reading the book. So I still prefer the book.

Meh. I expected a lot more it just sort of felt like a 2 hour long episode of some mediocre crime show. Anthony Hopikins made up a little for that though, an alright watch but not a great watch.

What was up with Jodie Fosters accent as well?, horrible!

Demme's camerawork is so audacious and pays dividends - the number of scenes in which it is almost entirely the actors speaking direct to camera is brilliant (and often, haunting).
