I was expecting the great performance we get from Terry O'Quinn, but I was not expecting such high class writing! One small but representative scene shows the Stepfather speaking with a school administrator, the two discussing the state of the stepdaughter. Overlooking the conversation is a framed portrait of Ronald Reagan. It seemed a bit cheesy (as do some of the slasher one-liners in the last act), but all the peak Reagan-era worship of some new manifest destiny trad lifestyle shows how and why some kind of psychopath would want to seize that lifestyle for himself, especially with violence. 4 months 1 week ago -

Somewhat enjoyable as a B-movie. Atmospheric cinematography. Full of plotholes. 6 years 11 months ago
