If you enjoy watching Richard Pryor, you will enjoy watching The Toy. The entire film is supported by his comedic likability. Otherwise, this is the same as any other "heartwarming" story about a troubled family coming together thanks to an outsider. A more fitting title would be "Richard Pryor Goofs Around," because that is all you will remember from this movie.
