One of my favorite silent films i've seen so far, not only that this is a very early emotion-packed western, it is also a western centered around a women in the west, quite a unique theme, if you ask me. Lilian Gish's brilliant performance combined with thrilling plot twists make this an timeless classic!
This is much better than The Big Parade, but neither of them are the best silent films. There are lots of better ones, including Korkarlen (The Phantom Carriage) directed by Victor Sjostrom (Seastrom), who also directed The Wind.

@ Azzuman: try The Big Parade. It's the only silent movie that equals this one, I guessmysteryfan
The background music in the Vimeo version can be used in Guantanamo Bay, just saying.
