I normally don't like musicals, but I love this movie. When the film transforms from black/brown and white to technicolor it's jaw-dropping. This film is really colorful and that already makes it very enjoyable to watch. The characters are funny, the songs are catchy, the special effects are great and the ending almost had me in tears. A beautiful and very entertaining film that stood the test of time very well.

The set design is perfect and the whole atmosphere of the movie is very light. Besides that, it's just a child's musical: fluff story, exaggerated characters and a protagonist with no personality nor distinctive features. It's still interesting how you come across dozens of little things that have been referenced countless times in media and without seeing this, you are missing a big piece of the puzzle.
