It's a brilliant movie with fantastic performances from its two stellar leads and an excellent plot that kept me thoroughly entertained, and Ridley Scott handled it beautifully. Also the ending is one of the most memorable ones I've seen; it left me speechless.

Store clerk: Yes ma'am.
Thelma: Let's see who wins a prize for keeping their cool. Now you sir, lay back down, thank you. Hey, throw in a couple bottles of Wild Turkey while you're at it.
Store clerk: Sure ma'am.
Thelma: Thank you, now everybody just stay down on the floor until I leave, thank you for your cooperation and have a good day.

under rated amongst the top film lists. Ought to be easily in the top 100 movies of all time. Amazing performance by the two leading ladies and the ending is just simply brillaint.

I finally watched this, despite knowing the ending (because it is pop history from my childhood)... and you know what? It's really good. It is more than just an ending that is memorable and meme-able.

It might be a bit melodramatic, but it works. As someone already said, it's a female remake of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Good stuff all around!
