I'd heard great things about "Together" and I'm not sure it really lived up to my expectations - billed as an uplifting comedy for the most part it was darker than I expected with some bitterness and cynicism about the failing dynamic of the traditional family just as much as the constructed commune family, although it is funny and ultimately does have a more positive message than a negative one. It reminded me most of Todd Solondz's "Happiness" in the same way well-drawn characters are deluded about themselves and it takes sexual interactions to reveal the cracks in the facade, although it's no where near as provocative (or horribly funny) as that film.

Totally Swedish and totally brilliant in its quirkiness. If you don't take it too seriously it can be a very enjoyable flick and a good social commentary at the same time.

brilliant. i never expected it'd had an effect on me this much. there is something here, and it is important to think about. even the title is a message. "together". embrace, adapt, evolve, challenge, accept, regret, concede, insist etc. but always do it "together". do not isolate yourself.

isolation is not about the number of individuals you are with, but a mindset. you can be isolated within a commune, a family or by yourself. break it, mingle. with genuine interaction you'll keep going, and maybe, arrive?

A really well constructed character movie where every relation between the characters matters. Somehow it doesn't feel cluttered in spite of all the stuff going on. The writer was no amateur.
Also it does an amazing job showing the mentality of your average insane Swedish communist who thinks they are going against the 'upper' class, who are hell bent on destroying society. When you are paying double for food due to 'climate crisis' tax, these are the people you should thank.

Immature and embarrassing grownups, ruining their own lives as well as their childrens.

Occasionally funny and touching, but cruder and more simplistic than expected – too much too fast!

Probably not in my book.
