Trading Places is one of the most enjoyable christmas movies ever made as it pairs poignant social satire with plenty of good laughs. Aykroyd and Murphy are perfectly cast in their roles and radiate talent. Besides, the story is unusually clever and pulls off the place-trading trick wonderfully. It is difficult to believe that this was only Eddie Murphy's second role - it looks like he is a veteran comedic actor already. However, they are not the only one shining here. The entire acting ensemble are brilliant from Jamie Lee Curtis' helpful hooker to Bellamy and Ameche's scheming capitalists.
Probably my favorite Eddie Murphy film.
Hilarious. Bacon lettuce and tomato sandwich part nearly killed me.
