With a cast full of comedic talents, one rises above all the rest both figuratively and literally. Mr. Lebron James may be just an unassuming basketball player, but deep underneath that stoic exterior he harbors a hidden desire to be a star. And that is what he'll become if he works harder to be better than everyone else. In what is poised to be the breakout role that puts his name in the mouths and minds of the masses, Mr. James dunks it out of the park and slams it into the goal and wins one for the Gipper. If the Academy doesn't recognize his talent here, surely they are off their meds and rockers and need their vision, hearing and next-big-thing radar checked. For the rest of us, all we have is the future to look forward to. All two meters-plus of it.

As with most Apatow movies (and I like Apatow a lot), Trainwreck is about 30 mintues too long.
There were quite a few laugh out loud moments in the first hour that I loved.
The second hour drags as the film hits all the major rom-com clichés and becomes super predictable. (Especially considering this was exactly the type of thing Bill Hader was parodying in last years "They Came Together"...)
I like Amy Schumer's writing, and the first 20 minutes gave me hope they were going somewhere new with the formula, but they don't.
The film was also sold as "debauchery" but all the bad behaviour is dealt with in the first 10 minutes.
I would recommend this to comedy fans but with a caution over the length. It also goes very chic-flick at the end.

First two acts are decent enough but the third act lets it down a bit.
What could have been a good movie ends up being an alright movie.

Also why advertise this movie, as Awesomethunderbolt said, as a debauchery movie and then solve the debauchery problem pretty much straight away.
Even the title Trainwreck is massively misleading :s

LeBron had seem really funny lines. Enjoyed the writing for his part; can definitely feel the Chris Rock influence on his lines.

Funny movie, but I couldn't take the drama part seriously, maybe because Schumer can't act..

Big fan of Apatow but this one did not deliver unfortunately.

Amy Schumer is easy to laugh with, though the film does fall flat on occasion. Still, despite the strength of her lead and script, Trainwreck's and Schumer's heights are also achieved on the strength of the supporting cast. A laugh-out-loud Appatow film replete with R-Rated humour that - despite its pretentions to not be a love story - turns out to be the most rom-commy of rom-coms right down to its oddly satisfying grand gesture of love finale. A movie that should have no reason to exist in today's pop cinema, and yet we're glad it does.

One static conversation after another. Thoroughly uninspired directing with little differentiation in camera movement, composition, or lighting from one scene to the next. Essentially a radio play which counts on the (lackluster) script to make it funny. The funniest bits were from fish-out-of-water moments in which known celebrities (Daniel Radcliffe, Lebron James, Marv Albert) acted against type. I expect more from Amy Schumer, instead of this Grease retread, wherein a girl earns a man by trading her life to become the male fantasy: a sports-loving cheerleader. Dulls the shine of her TV work as a "fun feminist."

In Trainwreck, Amy Schumer plays a notoriously promiscuous magazine writer who falls for a dorky sports physician played by Bill Hader. The whole point of the film is gender role reversal, with many of the men being romantic saps, and the lead woman in the "womanizer" role, who must be tamed. I think the movie's been a target for vitriol from certain quarters (HIND quarters, if you know what I mean) because of it. For female audiences, it probably works as a sort of sweet revenge, seeing men treated this way by a woman. That wasn't a component of my enjoyment, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. It had some genuinely funny moments, and director Judd Apatow used his particular talent to make it poignant as well. The film is full of interesting characters, many of them played by recognizable comedians (or sports stars, I guess), so it's correspondingly full of fun little moments. For me, there are things that don't play as well as others, in particular the sports setting. Like the Amy character, I think sports are kind of stupid and uninteresting (though I've liked sports movies because there they become a metaphor for struggle), so the jokey references to sports went way over my head, or else called attention to themselves in an irksome way. But I really liked the rest, especially before we get to the inevitable romcom climax (still funny, but formulaic at that point). Mind you, I wasn't really aware of Schumer's act going in, so it's possible those that are won't find the comedy as fresh.

I enjoyed this movie, thought is was funny and did laugh out loud! I loved the narration, there should have been more of it!! Fell a bit flat in the 3rd act, why would you have something so sad in a comedy??
For me I would cut about 20 mins out but apart from that v good
