No super production and for an adult a bit children's TV, but nice 1980s feel and genuine VFX without CGI. Not scary at all. I think the nostalgia factor plays a big role here for those who give higher ratings. Fun with Noah Hathaway (Atreyu) from "The Neverending Story", Jenny Beck from "V" as siblings and Julia Louis-Dreyfus from "Seinfeld" in a young role. Good music and good acting by short Phil Fondacaro, who plays both the troll Torok and one of the neighbors (also in Willow).

Surprisingly a lot of fun, there's just such a great charm to most Charles Band projects. The puppets are great in a silly way, the reveal of the reborn elf baby with the mustache had me rolling on the floor. When all the trolls start singing too, gosh that's some campy fun.

All the acting is pretty bad in an expected way (sorry Julia Louis-Dreyfus), but wow I do not get what the actor for the dad was going for. The child actor for the girl possessed by a troll made me feel supremely uncomfortable, but I think that is what they were going for.
