Great piece of sci-fi, but doesn't blow my head off with its paradoxes when it is trying so clearly to do just that. Brad Pitt's performance left me a bit flat and literally scattered the energy of the film too much. If you want good Gilliam, Brazil is still the best .
First, I love La jetée. When I saw 12 monkeys, I didn't think it was as good as La jetée. I was surprised, the setting is cool, Brad Pitt was surprising in a role of crazy.
Gilliam edges out the French original with his, as usual, amazing sets. Further illustrates Brad Pitt's total lack of range and inherent ability to play off kilter characters best.

As a huge fan of La Jetée, I have to say this was really appreciated (I was pleased to see Chris Marker's name up there at the beginning).I love the little tune that plays when the tension ramps up, I think that is going to have to be my theme tune haha.
It's a very quirky effort and Willis/Pitt played blinding roles. It moved me and that is all I can ask for.

predictable, but with some funny moments and some nice steampunk scenes- My God, Jeffrey. You truly are insane.
