This is why it's famous and in Tim Dirk's list: "During the making of the first segment "Time Out" during the summer of 1982, two child actors (7 year-old My-ca Dinh Le and 6 year-old Renee Shin-Yi Chen) and Vic Morrow (the father of actress Jennifer Jason Leigh) were killed in a freak helicopter crash, on July 23rd (at around 2:20 am), during the Vietnam-based scene."

Rosenbaum hasn't included several world masterpieces in his list but he includes THIS and of all the reasons to justify a work of art, he mentions it's about the It's a Good Life "revision" segment of this film and only??? Yeah, even if that's the sole reason, I don't buy it since as it stands, it's merely cute as a portmanteau film of some famous Twilight Zone episodes but...without the necessary spices to lift it up to camp greatness. Now, even excluding Dante's short from the rest of the collection, it's still not enough for it to be part of a top 1000 list, especially one coming from Jonathan Rosenbaum.

Terrible comparing to the greatness of the TV show.

Rosenbaum's entry is about the Joe Dante Short in this film: It's a good life, not the entire film.

No, it's definitely not of the same caliber as the Ron Serling classic, but I still thought the segments where pretty decent, expect the Spielberg one which was terrible. The best segments imo where the ones by John Landis and George Miller. The Joe Dante part was interesting, but trippy as hell.

I do recommended it to those who are fans of the original series

I have avoided this film for years because of the "accident" but I decided to go ahead just skip the Landis-part.

I don't dislike "sentimentality" as some do but Spielberg's was just corny.

Dante's segment seems like it could have been good or even great but was mostly "meh".

George Miller's was the best one (which I believe is also to Dante's credit) but suffered because I've seen it parodied a few times (notably Simpsons) and so it had very little impact.

The scariest parts filmed were in Faces of Death.
