I was looking forward to a snobby art-world horror flick, but this was a disappointment. I feel like this movie could have gone so many different ways that it ended up just not taking and ultimately was a waste of a great cast and cool aesthetic. It was ill-paced, long and drawn out at the beginning and quickly collapsing in on itself towards the end. Like when you write an essay that starts out good, but then you start running out of things to say and end up repeating yourself in different ways. I really wanted to like this movie but it did not deliver. 5 years 2 months ago

I can see people being annoyed or frustrated with this movie, but I think it's exactly what Gilroy intended it to be: a parody. And it succeeds as that; it's funny, and pointed, and effective, treading the line between obviousness and sincerity very skillfully. 5 years 2 months ago

The movie does carry on too much which made me lose interest a bit. But Jake Gyllenhaal played such a fun character. Like if I was in the art scene like that, I would want to act like that lol. 5 years 2 months ago
