If you take life seriously, this movie is not for you. And that's not a compliment.
The humor is not profound, but that's not a requisite for having a laugh. Life is absurd. Their work even more so. And they are rowing with the paddles they've got. An admirable feat indeed. Laughter is what makes life worth while, whatever the circumstances.
Anyway, compared to a lot of pretentious rehashed millions-of-dollars horseshit that's coming out of Hollywood nowadays, this movie is just fine. Indeed, it helps if you've worked in a restaurant before, however, disdain for people who think too highly of themselves will work just as well. 6 years 8 months ago
