People here clearly don't feel John Michael McDonagh's brutal style and faul humor. It's not merely cynical, nor is it (just) "politically incorrect". It's rather quite nihilistic towards power and corruption, but with an over-all anti-authoritarian / anarchist moral compass - and I mean this in the best way possible. Making a movie about two cops that screams "ACAB" from start to finish - it's Bad Boys' antithesis.

Both John and his brother Martin (his new film will hit theaters in a few months!) are of the most provocative screenwriters working in the US today, combining sheer entertainment with wit and a "fuck all"-attitude (the title of the movie describes its sentiment perfectly). It's uncompromising and because of that it will have some difficulties reaching the audience it was ment for.

Although I understand the unfavorable comments in this section, I couldn't let three of them exist here without at least writing one positive one. ;-)

As Nightwalker said, it's uncompromising and thus will have difficulty reaching audiences... in general. I do not know what to think about this movie. Maybe because I fundamentally disagree with the premise and idea behind the characters' motive which is me trying to say I outright do not *like* these characters and because of that, everything they do rubs me the wrong way and I end up genuinely not wanting to watch the movie.

Does that mean the director achieved his aim? I.e. evoked an emotional reaction out of me to the extent I did not want to see the characters' faces.

In terms of its comedic value, nothing memorable!

Came for Theo James. Stayed for Theo James. Was underwhelmed by Theo James. Wanted to leave 2443 times.

Some of the worst acting and line execution I have ever seen so props to you for that?

Soooo bad.

Pretty much just two vigilante-like cops, with the occasional educated line to show that they may actually know things and yet all they do is strut around, beat on people and throw f-bombs ever chance they can, which apparently is 9/10 out of every page of the script.
