Wow! A really great movie showing the impact of women wanting to work while society says they should stay at home and be nothing more than a companion and maid to a husband. Loretta Young portrays the woman wanting to help her husband make ends meet by taking a job while all he can see is a controversial trouble-maker who doesn't want to conform to the mold women were pressed into. Even the doctor at her husband's sickbed gives her a lecture on how evil she has been. No one notices the foolhardiness and cheating ways of the husband! No one sees his stubborn pride and inability to hold a job. Times have changed in that women don't get lectured any more about wanting independence. But in my opinion, many men would like to still have women out of the workplace and in the home, barefoot and pregnant. A law doesn't change the way people think or feel. 9 years 3 months ago
