Beautiful martial art movie in which the combat scenes (and, OK, the romance ones) are the less interesting part.
The plot is very good, the story well told.
Zhang Ziyi's character (Jen Yu) is a fantastic villain.
And the music definitively great.

A beautiful, romantic epic like only the Chinese can make them. The martial arts action is incredible, but the characters have so much more depth. The actors are much more than action stars.

After see them flying i though I was going to hate this but I didn't. The only part I disliked was Jen's love back story, my god that part was annoying! 8/10

I didn't like it so much. I felt like all the long fighting scenes took away from the plot and the story. They spent so much time fighting that I eventually lose interest.... Bummer!

Breathtakingly beautiful in many ways. Gorgeous effects, thrilling fights and extremely sad.

Absolutely tremendous.

Beautiful, intriguing, smart. And yes, a little annoying now and then.

Even if the flying was unrealistic, the action scenes are very well engineered and have a good rhythm to them, particularly when juxtaposed with the drums in the background.

Some of the best on-screen hand-to-hand combat I have ever seen.

First half an hour-hour it was annoying, but this is still a good movie

I prefer the romance parts of "House of Flying Daggers" and the action of "Hero", but still a great movie.

Wonderfully poetic. It tough to say which is better between this and Hero. Depends on if you love a good love story, or a good warrior story.
