Wow what a mess - a fairly entertaining mess. There's plot holes so glaring that you'll laugh out loud more than be scared.
The secret exit is 5ft into "the darkness"? How did the blind guys not just walk out?
The cult snuck into their tent and stole all their phones without waking them all up?
That snare trap dragged him underground after perfectly wrapping itself around his ankle??
They're with the cult for what seems to be 8 weeks and they are hunting/fighting masters? etc etc
All the main characters - all of them with the possible exception of the dad - are unlikeable and I counted the minutes till the first one finally got killed.
They had to be intentionally written to be this obnoxious - simply for the audience to hate them.
"We are diverse app developers and non-profit, pseudo-feminist, queer College stereotypes." -> "Sure. Take an arrow to the face. Nobody misses you."
After the halfway mark - it def grows stale. Could have been a quick 80min movie instead of 100+.
The ending after she gets in the RV is pretty fun though.
Absolutely horrendous. I can only assume this was written by someone with a mental disability. The first thirty minutes or so weren't bad, but it gets worse. And worse. And worse, and worse, and worse...

A remake far superior to the original, every time I thought it was losing me it pulled me back in.
