It was her. From twilight. Now it has to be awesome.backeby
10 years after jumanji, and it's a great deal better then the "original"! (Robin Williams is just annoying tbh)Rene Narciso
I didn't hate the movie, but I was unimpressed by it. I think the weak link is that the two child actors portraying the kids do a very mediocre work, particularly the youngest one.jamesmcavoy
That little kid was annoying as heck. The film itself was alright (but it'll never be as good as Jumanji which is very nostalgic for me), and I liked the game and the look of it all. Loved the zorgons. They were really pretty scary. But I do not understandmrjeffwright
"Don't worry, Danny. I'm your big brother. I know I have been an asshole to you since the beginning of this film of ours, but don't you worry, Dan,8/10

Now that I know is a book from the same author than Jumanji it feels less like a rip-off. Its fun enough, if you liked Jumanji you should like this.CrazyMcLazy
I am not sure about the hate for this movie but it seems to stem from both Kristen Stewart backlash and confusion about the movie. I hear it called a Jumanji clone but it is in fact another book in the series by the same author. It is, in a sense, a sequel to Jumanji. I personally like it a lot better than Jumanji. It's darker and a bit moodier. I really like Dax Shepard in this movie and you can see glimpses of the acting chops he shows in Parenthood. Hard to believe the guy started off doing pranks on Punk'd.Siskoid
I've never seen Jumanji, but the similarly-themed Zathura was a fun family film I think may be underrated by science fantasy fans. I particularly respect director Jon Favreau's use of practical effects over CG, which gives the film a nostalgic, but very solid feel, and the kids have a reality to them that makes the "moral" about feuding siblings and the importance of getting along come alive. It's pretty incredible just how much of the movie the two younger kids have to carry on their shoulders, with nary an adult in shot for vast swathes of time. While the plotting seems random (just as the game is), each random encounter actually adds a crucial piece to the world and becomes important in later chapters. Call me impressed.
