Brilliant style of directing and editing. Some weird stuff like the final dance sequence and the bad vfx don't get too much in the way. Kitano is great as Zatoichi, but the story isn't much different from the not very high level of the old Zatoichi movies but then again, the character has been already used in every different possible way. 7/10
