Sorry, but even William Castle completists are still recomended to steer clear of this.. It's not bad as in his usual fun to be bad stuff, this is just junk.
And more than a bit dodgy as well. The lead character claims to be 16, but plays like she's a sexualised 14 year old .. decidedly creepy.( In the bad way)
Amazing for the 'special effects', the imagination of futuristic equipment, such as the tunnelling machine, the vireo phones etc.. But sadly let down by the rather soap opera ish interpersonal relationships. Still, very worth a look.
I don't really go for the 'found footage' type of film, but this is (mostly) pretty good.
OK, the ending is a let down, but before that, some of it was pretty convincing (breakdown / saturation of emergency services).
It had me hooked..
Now and then, lost between the endless 'Units of the XXIst cavalry regiment ride by, and 'The Duke of whocareswhere at the races', a delightfully amusing little gem like this crops up.
An attempt at clarification; Beware of imitations! This is NOT 'Daikaijû Baran, Ishirô Honda, 1958. This is the Americanised version that splices in other actors and changes the plot drastically.
OK, Sorry, but..
I reckon I'm pretty tolerant and inquisitive about experimental film, but I'm afraid I feel this is beyond my ken. Sorry folks, this is scratched film...
(That said, if a strong defender would like to explain why I should see more to it, I'd be delighted to have it explained)
I'm afraid this didn't manage to wow me as much as it's supposed to. I think it lost me early on with the rather dated, rather offensive portrayal of women as objects of desire for the out of control lust driven men, and (groan) the 'wolf whistles on the sound track. Tacky.

A highly reasonable 'Police procedural' with the typical stentorian voice over. Not a classic, but a lot better than many that made Notr listsMovie comment on Rabbit Every Monday
