This is me against the world on this one. Since i didn't really care for it and everybody loved it. But oh well anyway.
To put in other words, it was a mixed bag since there was stuff that I liked such as Tom Holland who does a great job playing Spider-man and I really liked Michael Keaton as the villian, but he is great in anything no matter what role he plays.
Now on to the stuff I did not like. The whole story just didn't work for me, since it centered around Peter Parker's high-school life. Maybe it's because i'm a 26 year old man who dosen't care for subjects such as high-school crushes and teenage-angst. It was also funny at times even tough the humor often fell flat to me. And another thing, there was too much Tony Stark, a character I have never really liked to begin with, since I have allways found him annyoing and obnoxious, not to mention all the other side-characters who I found to be boring and uninteresting.
So all in all, I thought it was just ok since I did enjoy some parts, but I was bored for the most part.
No, it's definitely not of the same caliber as the Ron Serling classic, but I still thought the segments where pretty decent, expect the Spielberg one which was terrible. The best segments imo where the ones by John Landis and George Miller. The Joe Dante part was interesting, but trippy as hell.
I do recommended it to those who are fans of the original series
Before going in to this film, I knew very little about O.J Simpson. Other than he was that guy from 'The Naked Gun' movies and that he was involved in a murder-case in the early 90's, I knew absolutely nothing about him as a person or his life. I didn't even knew that other than being an actor, that he was also a legendary football-player and a cultural icon. However, this 7 hour documentary epic is easily one of the best and most enlightened experiences that I have ever had in a long time.
Since to me this film is not just about the rise and fall of O.J, but an epic and fascinating commentary on american culture itself, from media and celebrity worship to America's troubling race-realations throughout it's history.
I never tought that a documentary about one of the biggest murder-cases in American-history could be so engaging and interesting, but thanks to phenomenal editing and storytelling, I was never bored during it's 7 hour runtime.
An incredible achievement in documentary-filmmaking.
This is one of those movies, where I couldn't tell if I liked it or not. I have liked the other films that I have seen from Bergman, but this one left me a bit cold and confused. Maybe that was the actual point I don't know.
I can definitely appreciate it on a technical level due to it's great cinematography and acting, but I didn't really enjoy watching it.
One of De Palma's absolute best. Loved the directing and the performances, especially from Pacino and Sean Penn who delivers some of their best in their entire careers.
Let me just say this right up front, this is a bad movie. The acting is bad, the writing is terrible and the characters are your typical horror-movie cliches. However i still enjoyed it for it's 70's low budget feel, but I would personally just consider it a prototype for better things that came next, such as 'Texas Chsinsaw Massacre' and 'Halloween'
The special-effects and the production design are amazing! But unfortunately the film suffers from a bit of a weak story and David Bowie's singing scenes, which got way too silly and out of place.
Imo, it's one of those cult-movies where it's cult-status is a little overblown. I guess I probably would have liked it more if I saw it as kid, but as a first time viewer it was just ok.
It's dated in some areas sure, but it truly is one of the greatest anti-war films ever made and still manages to give the viewer an effective outlook on the brutality and terror of WW1, even over 80 years later since it's original release.
