This would be a fun double feature with How to Steal a Million.

If you were ever curious about the difference between English and American ideas of bad-asses, watch Burton & Eastwood in this.

The movie that dares to ask: When, oh, when will beautiful young girls give bad boy jocks a chance?

Loved the effect where she was breathing heavy. Made me forget it was a puppet!

All I could think of was George Bailey saying "in the vast configuration of things, I'd say you were nothing but a scurvy little spider!"

So far the only movie collaboration with Hackman & Hoffman.

I cannot organize my Netflix queue without this site, so I am putting my money where my mouth is and upgrading to a Pro subscription. Long live iCM!

Can't this list go under the Directors tab instead of Critics?

I'm scratching my head over some of the invective leveled against Hicks here:

deadbeat - no idea where this comes from
self-righteous - I'll give you "preachy"
bitter - sure, but you have to really hate the guy to reduce his life's conflicts down to this
angry - absolutely, and the fact that you would hold this against him proves you missed his entire point about passion
not funny - pretty sure you're in the minority here, even for your generation

As for the documentary itself, I say it has a lot to offer. Even fans of Hicks (myself included) can find stuff they haven't seen elsewhere. It's a good companion piece to "It's Just a Ride".

Anyone besides me consider Juve to be incompetent? I mean to the point of criminal negligence?

Rather than bother myself with who should check what and when, I found a link to what I believe is the entire film. It was aired on Habertürk TV's Tarihin Arka Odasi program (loosely translated as "Back Room of History"). And if you are familiar with Turkish, I imagine you'll get some scholarly commentary as well.

The poem recited is Eluard's Exil, and as near as I can tell they take a couple liberties with it. Below is the poem as it was originally published in the 1939 collection Donner à voir.

Was that the inspiration for the Silence of the Lambs one-sheet at the very end?

@bdcortright
Spare us your elitist crap. Your check isn't better than anyone else's, your use of the website is not superior to anyone else's, and you have not discovered the one "proper" way to enjoy any film.

Includes spoiler. Thanks a lot, Korea.

Update: Never mind, Under the Skin (2013) now has this beat. Thanks so much, UK, US, and Switzerland!
