I found the first half of this film to be ridiculously boring and unfunny. The second half, while equally moronic, contained some seriously good laughs. Perhaps I should have been drunk for this film. Funny, but not outstanding by any means.

Not for those with a hummingbird-like attention span, nor for those who demand logic behind their comedy. But for those that like it, this is one of the funniest and silliest films out there.

Marlon Brando is very good in subtle ways in this film. An interesting portrait of mob rule on the shores of New Jersey.

A very well animated short story about the a man who suddenly finds himself living 91cm to the left of his life after an encounter with a meteorite.

Delightful Rom-com and near-silent short. Very charming despite a simple premise.

Great animation style, but painfully slow. This was challenging to sit through because of the pace.

A good mystery and a fascinating look at the depths racism in the south.

A good film that has you on the edge your seat with tension. But also a film that unfortunately over-stays its welcome a bit and tends to drift toward familiar film tropes of the harsh realities of war toward the end.

Still, more deserving of the Oscar and BAFTA than Avatar.

Fantastic. Just great twisted Tim Burton work narrated by the unmistakable Vincent Price.

Fun Russian Winnie-the-Pooh. Faithful to the original stories and to some extent the Disney version, but less childish and Pooh doesn't wear a shirt.

Beautifully shot film, and an interesting conclusion to the trilogy. This film didn't connect to me emotionally as much as Blue, but nonetheless had me spellbound.

A movie that enthralled me the first time I saw it, and continues to do so. Features what has to be one of the most tense scenes with no dialogue ever made.

I was skeptical about this film, but it was fantastically crafted and exposes despicable acts happening in Japan.

If I had control over IMDB's voting, I would make sure "Waking Ned" (or "Waking Ned Devine" as it's known in North America) was on this list. Great comedy.

A fun trip through a dream-scape filled with philosophical debate. Not an easy film, but an interesting one.

The conflict in the story is not a good vs. bad story, but it's about her own ability to open up and accept good things for herself and not just for other people. I thought that was a pretty clear dramatic thrust/conflict.

Couldn't stand the Tom Petty parts. While I love the music of George Harrison, this concert-doc left me bored.

Better than Wallace & Gromit in The Wrong Trousers. Very funny stuff and amazingly well animated.

What an interesting film. Altman's disjointed style is distracting at first but as the film progresses and you realize its episodic structure, it grows on you. Interestingly enough, by the end of the film, Altman's style seems to have changed too. During the climactic football match we suddenly have humourous music, montages and a real heros vs. villains atmosphere. It's as if we are slowly acclimatized to the army atmosphere and slowly acclimatized to Altman's style and Lardner's sense of humour.

3.5/4

I expected this to be trash, and while it was far from gold, I was pleasantly entertained for the duration of the film. Silly effects and corny dialogue are simply a part of the film's charm, and I think that was intentional.

I nearly die laughing every time I see the "Puttin' on the Ritz" scene.
