Fortunately, it's not my call, but that of The Guys.
Criterion has previously included full length feature films as extras on their releases (the Stagecoach set for instance includes Bucking Broadway) and it's not unreasonable to expect such an extra to be included on the list - but it does open a whole can of what to include and what not to include in the realm of extras (what about third party documentaries that had their own theatrical release, for instance? Or TV-documentaries?). So I'm a bit of a purist in that area, advocating "main title(s) only".
Also, since this is an international site, it's pretty darn hard for non-US residents to watch some of these extras (legally), making the list even harder to complete.
The Hearts of Age can be found on the (R1) DVD "Avant-Garde: Experimental Cinema of the 1920s and '30s" released by Kino Video if you're not happy with the Youtube link provided below.
The Criterion Collection has a number of releases which contain more than one IMDb entry, either a collection of short films (e.g. the Painleve or Brakhage anthologies) or the occasional release of several movies under one "spine number" (eg. the Ningen no Joken trilogy).
To further confuse matters, Criterion Collection themselves sometimes (but not always) assign a spine number to the box containing the releases, so for instance Kieslowski's "Three Colors" trilogy covers spine numbers 587, 588, 589 and 590, with the "Box" having spine number 587. These obviously don't have a corresponding IMDb entry.
@Floor Man: The Bayesian weighting that IMDB uses is provided on the bottom of their Top 250 page.
So it should be no issue at all to apply that to the Top 1,000 and get a weighted Top 500 that's indiscernible from the official one (if you know how to do the programming, which I don't).
Journey to The Lost City (#41) is just a cut down version of Tiger of Bengal (Der Tiger von Eschnapur) and The Tomb of Love (Das indische Grabmal) - apparently made for the US market. One could argue against its inclusion on this list, since it's just a rehash.
Looks like you've got the wrong version of Musashi at #153. Wikipedia (your list source) indicates that it's available on DVD, so it must be the one with Mifune.
@Jook: All these IMDb lists only contain "feature length films", meaning films that are at least 40 minutes long. The exception is (obviously) IMDb's list of short films.

"The Last Performance" and "Broadway" are extras on the disc. If extras were included the list would be a lot longer than it already is.Blog comment on The Social Network

@_aLfa_: Under the misc tab in your settings, you can set the watchlist to hide checked movies as the default. If you check a movie in your watchlist it doesn't "remove" the title until you refresh the page (F5).
