Drive definitely has that Mannsian neo-noir feel to it

Absolutely despise it. First sitting I turned it off after 20 minutes. A few years later (today) I decide to give it another chance after buying it on DVD to rewatch.

I have to say that my initial reservations remain; annoying lead, baffling plot, too textbook kook, with a horrendously "too cool for school" soundtrack.

Not for me.

Watched it years ago but have fond memories of a solid comedy.

Would have been more interesting if it focused on Gosling and Carrell instead of the whole family Unit.

Solid enough film 6.5.

Biggest problem was that it was caught between being a biopic and a drama. The dementia scenes and non-linear plot/narrative didn't work for me. Streep was fine. Enjoyable overall, not a classic. 6/10.

Just finished the "Three Colours trilogy" (Excellent) and immediately came here to dislike this film, looking back.

I just wanted to post "Pup Fiction" although think this one has probably already been said.

7/10. Competent comedy + John Cusak factor.

Interesting film. Peculiar blend of reality and fiction.

Slightly different style to the first, but brilliant sequel nevertheless.

I admittedly haven't seen much silent movies but thought the soundtrack helped to sustain my interest throughout the demanding 3 hours or so.

None of the scenes were shocking by today's standards. The underlying reality of racism is pretty horrendous though, although this of course goes without saying.

Glad I've seen it anyway.

Don't know why it has such a high ratio of dislikes?

Felt like a TV drama. Very saccharin.

Didn't enjoy it. Don't think I'm even compelled to give it another chance. :/

Billy Wilder is one of my favourite directors but the film was lousy.

Can definitely understand it's omissions from the big, important lists.

Maybe I'm just not a Monroe fan...
