I thought this was,I don't really know why I thought that,but I sat down expecting a romantic comedy set in Scotland with lots of scenes set in Auld Reekie.It wasn't.
Bill Murray is right up there with Adam Sandler when it comes to actors who can't act and if they were ever funny they stopped being so years ago.Quirky?Charming?Different from everything else?I thought it was rubbish,I don't think I smiled once,but this is just like tripadvisor,you may completely disagree,so enjoy.
OK,in 1974 this was probably all right,today it's fcuking horrible,from the crap car chases to the shit plot and awful script,and even in the 70s their was a limit to police brutality on film.Bloody awful.
I don't a believe a man can't comment on what a woman would feel or that a woman can't comment on how a man would feel,but is there any reason why the director couldn't have told the same story with a young gay boy/man?Would he have been allowed to shoot similar scenes with young gay men?
Enjoyable enough,not that much substance really,as I still don't understand what makes people get involved in cults like this,what do they get out of it?
I read some review that said something about intelligence hidden beneath swearing,there is nothing intelligent about this and seriously if anyone involved thought this was in anyway funny or satired religion they must be morons.Complete and utter crap.If this had been made in1977 it might have been acceptable,but for goodness sake how could they still come up with jokes as obvious as this in 2016?
I knew I would hate it and I did.Useless actors,John Vernon excepted,horrible script and horrible special effects.Only the use of drugs can explain how some people enjoy this sort of stuff,and I don't mean alcohol which didn't help me at all
