Wow, didn't imagine the movie could be such below mediocre. The spacecraft crew had so little idea about space time bending, log data storage on CDs in year 2047 and human explosion when exposed to open space... Just funny and bad even for 1997 standards.
If you don't mention "amazing camera work" in your comment then you have no idea about camera work. Camera work was very good, single sequence shots were great. Did I mention camera work?

Anyway, to the point, Birdman is a personal movie of the Hollywood industry. And so it is very understandable movie was honored by an Oscar. However, that doesn't mean an average movie watcher should praise it to the sky. Comments here are utterly overrated. Inarritu is a first class director with excellent pieces. Birdman is not in his top three. Additionally, I didn't like the fake sequence shots at all. The transitions via the walls were pretty boring to me.

Storytelling is strong and may be this is the best performance of Tom Waits in a movie. As a whole package this is pretty good for a TV movie. Thanks Coens, thanks Netflix. The only criticism that I can make is the digital look of the scenes. Too vivid, too vibrant, too digitally altered. That choice may be for providing a contrast element in terms of cinematography however I would prefer a less edited/altered look.
I had no idea that I was going to enjoy the movie this much prior to watching it. Actually I have been postponing the movie for a long while. Pity! Great movie, gave all the motivation for watching the rest of the Woody Allen filmography.
Surprisingly boring, extremely cliche. Nothing new, nothing artistic, nothing special, nothing funny. I am shocked to see such a mediocre movie got high attention. A clear avoid!
